Working with Men and Boys who are Victims/Survivors of Crime
This workshop covers a variety of ways in which service providers can support and assist boys and men who are victims/survivors of crime. There is an emphasis on intimate partner violence and sexual assault crimes. The workshop also covers societal obstacles when it comes to men and boys asking for help and/or reporting crimes committed against them.

Emmanuel DeJesus is currently the Kings County District Attorney’s Office Community Outreach and Training Coordinator and the Project Coordinator for the Kings County District Attorney’s Office Pride Connect Program. He is a social worker with over eleven years of experience within the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office Victim Services Unit. He is involved in the Brooklyn Sexual Assault Task Force, the NY Downstate Coalition, and the KCDA liaison with Common Justice (a Restorative Justice Agency). He provides trauma-informed care to vulnerable victims and survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault who identify as men/boys, LGBTQIA+, and/or come from immigrant communities. Emmanuel has an MA in Educational Psychology, and an MSW in Community Organizing and Clinical Social Work. Emmanuel is also an Adjunct Lecturer at Silberman School of Social Work Hunter College teaching Criminal Justice Social Welfare Policy and Social Work Practice Lab within their MSW program. He is presently working on a thesis to complete an MA in History.
