The Prosecutors Alliance Trauma Responsive Victim Advocacy Training Certificate is designed to empower victim advocates with the skills and knowledge needed to compassionately and effectively support individuals and communities impacted by trauma from crime victimization. This unique curriculum addresses a critical gap by focusing specifically on helping victim advocates understand the effects of trauma on crime victims, implement trauma-responsive approaches in their work, and prioritize preventative care to mitigate secondary trauma. The program spans five weeks, with each week dedicated to a different facet of trauma response and care. In addition to the live online trainings, participants will have weekly readings and self-guided work. Training participants will receive a certification after completion.
